Buying & Selling Brass

Let's start with selling since we know y'all love what we sell...

1) Anything that we're selling online will be through our eBay Store.

This will include brass model trains, brass model parts, hard to find and custom decals for brass trains, specialty items such as our book, our replacement driver insulation kits, and our very popular replacement drive tubing kits that work for HO steam, diesel, electrics, and just about anything with a motor inside of it.

It will also include from time to time portions of our vast collection of Duluth-Superior and Mesabi Iron Range railroad photographs, slides, negatives, plans, blueprints, operating data, time books, diagram books, track maps, station plans, drawings, and railroadiana. If you have a specific need in this area, please ask for what you're looking for and we can either post the items on eBay or work a deal with you direct off of eBay. We have about 100,000 items from Duluth-Superior and are only just beginning to look at listing some real gems. Early bird gets the worm here.

2) We also utilize Matt Dowd's ReSourcedRails.com platform to sell.

Please check Matt's stock often and be sure you're subscribed to his email alerts that he posts every Friday at 11am sharp. Matt runs a tremendous brass business, attends far more shows than we do, so we utilize his selling services to help us stay on track with our brass model train repair line. We do repairs for Matt's shop too.

Why ReSourcedRails.com?

Matt and I worked together at the same terminal for BNSF Railway. When we retired from the railroad, we each started up our own brass businesses. We're local to each other. We understand each other's business models. We fully support each other's efforts to provide the best models, best service, and best customer satisfaction. From buying to selling, servicing models, making repairs, one or both of us will certainly be able to help you with your collection needs. Count on it!

3) Be sure you're watching our Current Show Schedule

Click on our CURRENT SHOW SCHEDULE to see the current list of model train shows we're planning to attend. We sell more models at shows on an annual basis than we do online. That saves you time and money since anything purchased at a show can be carried home in your arms. As our customers can attest to, when we come to a show with tables covered with models, generally speaking, they all go home with someone else. That works well for everyone.

Which gets us to the BUYING part of the equation...

We do buy collections of model trains, brass, and just about everything else including plastic and parts. Damaged models too. If you have a collection to sell the best way to get a transaction done is to take that first step and reach out to us with a phone call to 630-893-5719 or use CONTACT US to drop us a line. We'll get right back to you!
